PUBLIC SERVICE STAFF RECOGNITION DAY
As part of Public Service Week 2022, which ran from Monday June 20th – Friday June 24th, Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments of line agencies were encouraged to organize activities to recognize and show appreciation to their staff. Special recognition for persons who have served in the Public Service for 20 years and over; and staff who have made an impact technologically were recognized in keeping with this year’s theme “Embracing Digital Government Post-Pandemic”
The following staff members who served 20 years and over within the public service were recognized and presented with gift baskets along with Certificates of Appreciation for outstanding years of service.

- Mr. Rohan Sargusingh
- Mrs. Verlette Justin
- Mrs. Linda Esnard
- Ms. Annie Nathan
In keeping with this year’s theme, Mr. Jesse Pemberton and Ms. Sharon Moise were also recognized for assisting with innovation and transformation in the digital sphere of the office by delivering a modern website. For their innovative work, they were also presented with Certificates of Appreciation and a small token.
The Director, with a few words of encouragement stated that “Being a Public Servant is never an easy job much less being an exemplary one. We must see ourselves as professionals both at work and at home. We must be examples in our work life and our private life. These are not easy standards to live by, but we must challenge ourselves to always do better, and strive to be better.”
The day would not have been a success without the Deputy Director, Ms. Gemma Thornil, Ms. Kearl Blanchard and Ms. Nicketa Franklin who worked tirelessly to organize the day’s activity. In addressing the staff Ms. Thornil expressed her gratitude and appreciation to all staff for their contribution to the work of the office and by extension as public servants; “Every staff member of this office has assisted in one way or another in promoting integrity and accountability within the public service by the work they have done”. The staff was encouraged to continue to fight the good fight to make the office an impactful and exemplary department.
The day culminated with lunch for all staff as a small gesture of appreciation.
